Tahuna Divers
In the holidays Caitlin and Izzy represented Tāhuna at the New Zealand Secondary School and Intermediate Diving Championships at the Parakiore diving pool in Christchurch.
It was a great opportunity to compete in this outstanding new dive facility. They achieved some awesome results, with Caitlin placing second overall in the intermediate girls, and Izzy and Caitlin coming second together in the intermediate girls synchro. At the end of the competition, they were awarded the overall national second-place Intermediate trophy for Tāhuna.
They then went on to their second competition of the week, the Dive New Zealand National Championships over the weekend. This event was based on the DNZ grading system and inter-club competition. They were awarded gold, silver, and bronze medals, bringing home a total of six medals between them. The competition included divers from all over the country as well as the Australian team, which was a fantastic way for them to meet new people and make friends. Overall, both divers had a great competition, bringing home medals of all colours, a trophy for the school, personal bests, and new friends!
