Tahuna's karate queen

Cora takes on the South Island's best.

Hi I’m Coraline and on the 21st of June, I represented Tahuna in the South Island schools karate comp. I went up to Christchurch for 2 tournaments, one for Tahuna and one for my club.

While representing Tahuna I competed against year 7 and 8 premier girls throughout the South Island in kata (forms), and kumite (fighting). I started with kata, and came second. Beating the best of the South Island. Next I competed in kumite and came 3rd.

It was a great experience and I came back with 4 medals - 1 bronze, 2 silver, and 1 gold.
