A huge congratulations to our students who participated in the recent Aurora Energy Science and Technology Fair. Their hard work, curiosity, and innovative projects truly paid off, earning them well-deserved recognition and awards. The fair was a fantastic showcase of our students' scientific curiosity, and they should be incredibly proud of their achievements.
Isabel Crawford's Award-Winning Exploration of Memory
A standout success at the fair was Isabel Crawford, who impressed the judges with her project, "Behind the scenes of memory." Her insightful research and detailed presentation earned her an incredible three awards, a testament to the quality and depth of her work.
Aurora Energy Award: For outstanding overall project quality.
New Zealand Psychological Society - Otago Branch Award: Recognising the excellence of her psychological investigation.
University of Otago, Department of Psychology Award: A special commendation from the academic community for her contributions to the field.
Isabel's project delved into the intricacies of how our brains store and recall information, providing a fascinating glimpse into the science of memory.

Jax Anngow-Strange: Also for "Glue stick science," receiving the New Zealand Institute of Chemistry Award.

Ameereh McRodden and Beth Fuller: Both received the Dodd-Walls Centre for Research Excellence Award for their joint project, "Whiteboard Angles."
