Success at North Island Diving Championship
Group of Tahuna students share their recent success at the diving championships
On the 8th of April Erin Mather, Archie Vorgers and Parker Dougherty travelled to Hamilton to compete in the Diving North Island Championships 2021. We travelled with our team (Diving Otakou) and our group of three all competed in the Skills Level 2 one metre, three metre and platform (five metre) events.
We receive ribbons according to what score range we came on each board.
On one metre Archie got a gold ribbon, Erin got a silver ribbon and Parker got a silver ribbon too.
On three metre Archie got a silver, Erin got a silver and Parker got a bronze.
On platform Archie got a gold, Erin got a silver and Parker got a silver.
We had a very enjoyable time (except for waking up before 6am every morning)
Our favourite part was the gigantic bouncy pillow at the place we were staying. We did backflips and the funniest part was where our friend did 10 consecutive front flips then slid off the side into the hedge 2 metres to the side.
