Paying Our Respects - ANZAC DAY 2016

A group of Tahuna students attended the ANZAC Day Dawn Service and Anderson's Bay Posy Laying Ceremony to pay their respects.

On Monday 25th April, a group of Tahuna students attended the Anzac Day Dawn Service to commemorate all New Zealanders killed in war and to honour the returned servicemen and women. Judd Stewart and Devon Keen laid the wreath on behalf of Tahuna.

Later on in the morning, we attended the Anderson's Bay Posy Laying Ceremony where Sarah Quinn recited the ode, Sarah and Jonathan Richmond laid the wreath, and the students lead the singing of the national anthem.

All of the students represented Tahuna Intermediate well and they were very respectful at both ceremonies. Devon Keen was lucky enough to be able to wear his Great-Grandad's medals to the dawn service as he went up to lay the wreath. Sarah Quinn wore her Great-Uncle Stan's medals from World War 2 and Jonathan Richmond wore his Great-Uncle Gus' medals from World War 1.

Lest we forget.
