Inspirational Speaker visits Tahuna

Cam Calkoen visited Tahuna again on Monday and his inspirational message was once again greeted with a huge amount of enthusiasm from students & staff.

He generated a big response on social media on Monday night from Tahuna students who all wanted to thank him for sharing his message with them at school. Cam's message of "Dream big, achieve more" certainly struck a chord with the students.

This is Sophie Aitken's (Room 7) response to yesterday's visit to Tahuna by Cam Calkoen:

I thought Cam’s speech was inspirational and awesome! I really liked all the stories he told us. Cam told us to achieve our dreams and never give up. It’s good to step outside your comfort zone because if you do you could end up doing something super fun and you might even end up making new friends. He also told us we needed to believe in ourselves.

‘Dream Big, Achieve More’ to me means that if you dream it, you can do it. It’s good to step outside your comfort zone, to achieve more, to believe in yourself and to always try your hardest and never give up, even when things are difficult or people say you can’t do something.

I think I am good at art and netball. My dreams for the future are to have lots of friends, get a good job that pays me lots of money and to go travelling with my best friend and see the world.
