Friday fun with our Tainui buddies!
This year, Room 17 has loved being pen pals with Ruma Kiwi at Tainui. We have exchanged letters throughout the year, sharing stories and learning more about each other. We have also spent time at Tainui, reading books together and helping the younger students with their maths. Last term, they were also our clients for PBL, where we created a pantomime just for them.
On Friday, it was our turn to host! Ruma Kiwi came to visit us at Tahuna and we were excited to show them around. We started in our classroom before heading to the technology block, where we split into two groups. One group went to Food Tech with Mrs Scott to decorate cookies with funny faces, while the other joined Mrs Whitson for an art session. There, we learned about an artist and made beautiful water coloured bookmarks.
We love spending time with our buddies and being responsible leaders. It has been such a fun and meaningful connection this year!
