Success Reverberates for "Echo District"

Tahuna rock band Echo District takes out second place in Band Quest regionals 2025, and Best Vocalist award too.

Echo District are Elliott Maddock on vocals, Henry Wilson on bass, Finn Crannitch on drums, and Braeden Power on keys. The boys shook the walls of the Taieri College Performing Arts Centre with high-energy pop-punk anthems Holiday by Green Day and Should I Stay or Should I Go by The Clash.

The judges were impressed, praising the band with comments such as “Killed it on drums!”, “Loved the engagement with the audience”, and “Great vocal control.”

Rockshop Bandquest is Aotearoa’s nationwide live music event for primary and intermediate students. Now in its fifteenth year, the programme brings hundreds of young bands to stages across the country each season.

Sunday marked the second day of the Otago Regionals, featuring twelve bands from six schools. First place was awarded to Bathgate Park School’s outstanding band, Ō Reo.

Echo District may have taken second place, but with amps cranked and chaos in their veins, this punk crew are just getting started.
