E Noho Rā Mr H

Terry Hokianga says haere rā to Tahuna after being associated with the school for 22 years, initially as a parent and then mostly, as a valued and popular Year 7 teacher.

Terry is leaving teaching to pursue a new career in the Health & Safety area and ultimately wants to move back up north to Napier to be closer to his mokopuna and whānau.

Terry’s contribution to Tahuna Normal Intermediate School  has been immense with him leading Te Reo Māori, Te Roopu and Te Taiopeka within the school. His expertise in teaching waiata and haka will especially be missed and we thank him for his outstanding work. Te Taiopeka is very highly regarded throughout Dunedin and is often called upon to perform at conferences and community events. Terry also taught marimba, guitar, drums, ukulele and Cook Island dancing to interested pupils. He was also responsible for TNIS sport.

Terry your legacy will live on at Tahuna through the students you have taught. These practices will continue into the future.

Terry we wish you all the best in your endeavours.
