Calligraphy with Mr Lousley
By Ditte and Leila
On Monday Mr Lousley came into room 15 with some special Chinese calligraphy paper and brushes. First he told us how to hold the brush and the history behind it. Once we got the equipment Mr Lousley put on some traditional Chinese music so we could focus. He gave us pieces of paper with different Chinese characters on them which we could copy onto the calligraphy paper. The special calligraphy paper was easy to use because we didn’t need ink, we just dipped the brush in water and brushed on the calligraphy paper. It would look like there was black ink on the calligraphy paper but eventually it would fade away so you could reuse it. It was super fun and relaxing and we learnt heaps about the Chinese culture.
Thank you Mr Lousley for coming in and teaching us Calligraphy.
