Fishing for Knowledge 🎣
This week, Room 17 had a fantastic trip to the Marine Science Centre to deepen our understanding of our PBL topic.
We explored a variety of marine species and learned about their habitats and specific needs. A highlight for many students was the touch tanks, where they could interact closely with marine life.
We also discovered traditional Kai Tahu fishing techniques and gained insight into the vital role native trees and plants play in sustainable fishing. Our learning extended to food webs and the connections between predators and prey. This knowledge will support us as we begin designing our own fishing tools in the coming weeks.
