Harakeke
Written by Paige Carrington
Last week we learned about harakeke and how to harvest it. We watched a video of how to harvest harakeke. It talked about how to cut it and how to not cut the baby and the parents or the plant will die. You can cut the tūpuna and you have to wear gloves and old clothes. Another thing we learnt is that you can't harvest when you are pregnant. You have to be careful not to cut yourself when you are harvesting. We also made some posters about harvesting harakeke. We put facts on our posters and what to do if you went harvesting. Here are some photos of our work.
