Renee's Lockdown Recount Writing.

My story

I remembered it all started on a Monday. It was a long weekend so I wasn’t at school. When my Dad turned on the TV, our lives were never going to be the same ever again.

When we heard the news that we were going into level three, our hearts sank. That meant no going to school, no going out to see our friends. That meant we were stuck inside together for a very long time. Luckily it was the school holidays for the first few weeks. Mum tried to make it as fun as possible and she did a good job too. But I think me and my brother were starting to get on each other's nerves. Actually, we were getting on each other's nerves. This was the most time I had ever spent with my brother and I have lived with him for my whole life. Even though we can get on each other's nerves I still love him.

One of the great things about lockdown was that I did a lot of Binge watching.Lets just say I watched a whole lot of TV. Some of my favorite tv series that I watched over lockdown are, Friends, Full House, Fuller House and Downton Abbey. Actually, there was a problem with Fuller house. It was so annoying because it is so dramatic and I loved it but they still hadn’t done the last nine episodes of the last season ever.

When school started back we were on the computers a lot doing school work and projects. Even though Mum was very busy she still made time to look after me and Logan. Logan is my older brother who goes to Tahuna. Mum said that we had to go outside for at least one hour a day and sometimes that was annoying but sometimes it wasn’t. We got into the swing of things pretty easily and we were really enjoying ourselves. We zoomed with family and I zoomed with my friends all the time too. It turned out not to be that bad. Life went on and things got back to normal but not very fast. Dad was on the shopping duty, which was great because he would get lots of lollies. Sometimes he would get a lot of things that weren’t on the shopping list.

When we heard we were going back to school I was so happy to see my friends. I love my family but we had just spent a very long time with each other. We got back to school and a lot of things had to change before we could do anything. We had to wash our hands all the time which was fine by me. We had to sit one meter away from the people in our class and at lunch time we had to be two meters away from people in other classes. It was fine though. We had to do what we had to do to be safe. Things were really starting to get back to normal. I was happy to be back with all my friends. I had missed them so much. people were still getting sick but not as many as when lockdown started... Well, in New Zealand anyway. In other countries lots of people were getting sick and I felt really bad but there was nothing I could do.

It was not as bad as I thought it would be and I am just glad that I am safe and my friends and family are safe.
