Year 7's

The Year 7's have been out and about.

The term has started off really well for the Year 7's with lots of opportunities to get out and about around Dunedin.

We have had nearly all our classes at the Art Gallery over the past two weeks. Each class has been coming back with a different type of art that they have completed with the Art Gallery Educator. The students have been looking at how to create a pantomime scene from a piece of art as well as developing some transferable skills they might be able to use for their props or backdrops.

We have also started our six-week swimming programme. All students have been assessed and will now start working on their technique and stamina in the water. A big thank you to the parents who have volunteered to join us for both swimming and the Art Gallery, we really appreciate you coming along with us.

Our last outing over the past two weeks has been to our local primary schools and early childhood centers to share fairytales and to get ideas from the younger children about what they would like to see in the pantomime. Their responses were amazing and it will interesting to see the Year 7's combine their ideas into one pantomime for each class. Who knows who will win between Dogman and Spiderman?
