Ahurea Tuakiri ~ Identity

This Term, Room 20 have been looking into and reflecting on their identity and have worked hard to create some amazing projects to represent this.

I have created a sports shield full of my achievements in sport and the sports I have played. It also has my family crest on it, which I have learnt about through this project. I made this because I love sport and it is one thing that I grew up doing.

I decided to make a model of a fale (a traditional Samoan house) with photos of my friends, family and I. I created this because the fale represents my culture and the poles holding it up represent my family, myself, my friends and having fun.  The base represents my foundations and values and the top will have a tapa cloth from Samoan and Niuean sides and Scottish tartan cloth to represent this side and an NZ/Maori flag to represent this as my home.

I made a skateboard for my identity project. I made this because I love skateboarding and have loved it for years. I designed the bottom with paints and pencil to show my identity and where I come from.

I designed a circuit operated board game to show my identity. I have decided to make this because I love playing board games and I wanted to try something out of my comfort zone by doing coding and using makey makey. I learnt a lot through this project.
