Room 6 Sporting Successes
We have a number of students who we wish to celebrate their sucesses in recent weeks
Gymnastics: A few weeks ago I had a Rhythmic Gymnastics competition. I competed as an individual and in a group. In the group we had an amazing day on our first showing we got a 8.45 and we thought that was an amazing score. The next showing we did the routine and we thought that we got a lower score. But when the score came out we had got a 9.25. We had to get a 10 overall to get to nationals we smashed that and we got a 17.65. Because we achieved that score we are now going to Auckland on the 5th to the 12th of October to compete. I’m really looking forward to it and have been training hard.

Rugby-The Otago town team is awesome. Hi I'm John and I made the under 38kg Otago team but before I even got to try out for the team I had to make the Metro team and get past that. I like playing with some of my old friends but the trainings are really hard because the coach makes us do three 'Hemmy Millers' which is basically an hourglass shape on the rugby field. Our next game will be in a couple of weeks and we will be playing in a tournament against a number of different teams. I am looking forward to it.

Basketball-Our names are Te Atawhai Campbell and Zoe Melville and we are both in room 6. We are in the Otago Basketball B team this year and have played 4 games and 1 tournament so far this season.
In our first tournament down in Gore, we played 4 games. The first team we versed was the other Otago B team we won that game. Then we played Eastern Southland and we won that game as well. That was on the Saturday we stayed the night in Gore at the Calumba camp site and then on Sunday we played the 2 top teams. We lost both games but the whole team was tired.
This weekend on the 2/9/17-3/9/17 we have another tournament at the Edgar center this tournament will decide if we go to the next tournament in Invercargill. If we get through we will stay there for a week. They will choose 5 people from each team to go to Invercargill.
