My Awesome Project!
In Hard Materials we were learnt about 3D Modular Systems with Mr Arnold.
We started off with an introduction about 3D Modular Systems. After he knew what we had to do we started to do some concept sketches and we had to come up with at least four different sketches. After that was complete we had to make what we were going to make out of aluminium alloy in cardboard. Mr Arnold explained how to get all the right measurements and how to fold the cardboard and then we were underway.
I decided to make a truck, at first I did not think about doing a roof with hinges because I didn't think I had enough time. After we had finished our cardboard mockups and ticked off then Mr Arnold gave us a demo on how to fold the aluminium. We could make whatever we wanted to as long as it had two 300mm by 100mm aluminium sheets set out how Mr Arnold wanted us to do.
On the first day we were just setting out the aluminium. We came back ready to get started and had to fold up our aluminium. Mr Arnold then showed us how to use brackets and how to make closed and open cubes. I started to assemble my work with some advice from Mr Arnold. After a couple of hours my work was assembled. I had a whole lesson left to do something. Mr Arnold said that it might be a good idea to put some LEDs in the back of my truck, so I went over to Mr Boyes, another tech teacher and asked if I could hook up some fast flashing LEDs. Done, my work was complete. I am really proud of my project.
