ANZAC DAY

Room 7 held there own ANZAC service to commemorate the fallen.

Throughout the week Room 7 have been learning about ANZAC Day and New Zealand's involvement in the First World War. Students have been reading stories and articles about soldiers, nurses, service animals, mascots and the Wahi miners.

The class recorded facts on to a poppy and coloured them in to represent the people and animals involved. Did you know that the purple poppy represents all the service animals of war?

Sam, Sophie and Ruby all spoke at the class service. Sam read a short overview about New Zealand's involvement throughout the war. Sophie read 'In Flanders Field' and Ruby guided the class through the ode. Ms Parker followed up with the Last Post and Reveille.
