Casual Friday coming up this Friday 17th October - we're running a food drive for the Ōtepoti Dunedin Whānau Refuge's Kai Pantry.
This coming Friday, the Tahuna School Council is running a Casual Friday. Students are asked to bring donations of food for the Ōtepoti Dunedin Whānau Refuge. This is our second year doing this, the photo above shows just part of what was donated last year.
We're very pleased that we can again support a local organisation by running a Food Drive. We're hoping to match or even better our efforts from last year.
Students are asked to bring in one (or more) food items any day from Monday onwards. These should be non-perishable items such as cans, pasta, rice, noodles, cereals, sauces, spreads, tea, coffee, muesli bars etc.
The staff at the Refuge were blown away by our efforts last year. Running a Food Drive helps send a powerful message to our students that, by each doing something small, they can achieve huge things as a collective.
Our donations will be a big help as the Refuge provides food to around 20 families every single week.
Many thanks in advance from the Tahuna School Council.
