Year 7 News

Year 7's back in class.

How quickly is the term going? What a busy start of the term the Year 7's have had we have completed First Aid and our camps at Waiora. Thank you once again to all the parents who have accompanied us out to camp.

Students have been back in the classroom working on their projects for the Ko Wai Au unit. It has been great seeing the development as the students learn how to give constructive feedback, as they take on the role of critical friend. The improvement from iteration to iteration has been great.

The Year7s have been enjoying all the sporting opportunities and have had great results in water polo, touch, futsal, tennis, and volleyball. Well done to all the Year 7's who are representing Tahuna.

We will be teaching puberty in weeks 9,10, and 11. Students will be focusing on the internal and external changes their bodies will go through during puberty, as well as learning about hygiene, sleep, and food. A parent meeting will be held before the delivery of this topic and a date is yet to be confirmed.
