Room 14's metaphor poems
As part of the School Kit 'Get NZ Writing' program Room 14 spent Monday morning doing a nature walk around Tahuna to get inspiration for our metaphor poems.
This year Room 14 took part in the 'Get NZ Writing' program - thanks to School Kit. As part of this we had to fill in a poster and make a metaphor poem about ourselves to send to our buddy class. We were matched up by School Kit and we had Room 5 at Tauranga Intermediate. As part of this we made up a class metaphor poem based on what we could see and hear outside our classroom. We hope you enjoy it!
When we step outside Room 14 we see:
Room 17 leaving the library, they are milk pouring from a bottle,
the seagulls squawking at each other are siblings arguing over something stupid,
the footsteps of children moving around the school are the incessant pattering of rain,
in the corner of the field a fence is a cat perched waiting for a mouse,
and finally, we see the cars in the carpark, they are horses lined up and ready to be released.
