Year 8 News

It has been a busy time for our Year 8 students in the middle part of the term. They have been hard at work developing and sharing their Olympic-style games with Year 5 and 6 students from our contributing schools. It has been fantastic to see so many of our Year 8 students leading, coaching, and sharing their games with others.

Year 8 rock climbing has started, and so far, they have enjoyed incredible weather out at Long Beach. Students have had the wonderful opportunity to challenge themselves and support each other throughout the day. If you can help out in any way, please let your classroom teacher know.

Polyfest preparations have been ongoing throughout this term. Many of our Year 8 students are heavily involved in practices to ensure they put on an amazing show for us. We wish them all the best for their upcoming performance next week.

Athletics will take place on Wednesday, 18th September, in Week 9, and all teams have been preparing during P.E. sessions. Students have been practicing shot put, discus, high jump, sprints, and relays. It promises to be a great day out at the Caledonian.

We’re looking forward to a fantastic final three weeks of Term 3!

Ngā mihi,

Rob Wells
