Can we sustain life in a greenhouse?

Will our microgreens grow

Room 15 have been working on a STEM project with the Design Tech room.  We have been investigating the greenhouse effect in science and came up with a hands on scientific investigation to see if we could sustain life of microgreens in a mini greenhouse.

After doing some research we found that the temperature required for growing microgreens was between 15-30 degrees celsius and could be as high as 50 degrees depending on the website we investigated.  After some median calculations in Mathematics we hypothesised that the ideal temperature would be 23 degrees celsius. We investigated the depth and height the microgreens would grow and set about looking into greenhouses.

We  investigated greenhouse designs so that we could make our own greenhouses, however we decided to go with ready made ones instead so that we could focus on the programming.

We are programming for moisture and heat. Our next step from our investigation would be looking at programming a fan to come on to control the temperature inside our greenhouse.
