Hip Hop Dancers Shine at Regional Competition
Regional Champions return with 2 Golds and 1 Silver!
Tahuna's talented hip hop dancers have achieved outstanding success at the Southland and Otago Regional Hip Hop Dance Competition, bringing home an impressive two gold medals and one silver medal across their divisions.
The students delivered confident, energetic performances after many weeks of dedicated practice, with their hard work and commitment paying off. Their gold medal-winning routines saw them outperform teams from Columba College, Balmacewen Intermediate, Taieri College, St Hilda's Collegiate, and Trinity Catholic Collegeāa fantastic achievement against such strong competition!
The teams travelled south to Invercargill on the first Saturday of the school holidays for a full day filled with excitement, energy, and outstanding dance performances. They represented Tahuna with pride!
The dancers are now looking forward to representing Tahuna at the New Zealand Hip Hop National Competition. We are especially fortunate that this year's Nationals are being held right here in Dunedin, giving our school community a wonderful opportunity to get behind our teams. We hope to fill the Regent Theatre with a sea of Tahuna supporters!
Nationals will be held on Friday, 18 September, at the Regent Theatre. We wish all of our dancers the very best as they prepare for this exciting next challenge.
Congratulations to all of our dancers (Mana Wahine, Mana Tama & Mana Toroa) and coaches (Xzenia and Jorja) on this incredible achievement. We are immensely proud of everything they have accomplished and can't wait to cheer them on at Nationals!
