Room 1 Visit Rongo Stone Monument

Students in Year 8 have been learning the significance of the Rongo Stone statue situated on Portsmouth Drive, Dunedin.

In class we have been studying the Treaty of Waitangi and Parihaka.

As a result of our learning we found out that the Rongo Stone Monument on Porstmouth Drive is a very significant part of our local history.

As a team we walked to the monument to find out more,  adding to our learning.

The students were very respectful and enjoyed learning about a monument that they often pass and previously knew nothing about.
