Year 8 News
It has been a busy and rewarding term so far across all learning areas:
Mathematics & PBL: In maths, students have been focusing on algebra, which links neatly into our Project-Based Learning (PBL) topic: Kitchen Chemistry. Students have been experimenting with low-cost, tasty snacks while learning about flavor combinations, as well as chemical and physical reactions. There were a few burnt popcorn moments along the way, but every mistake provided a great learning opportunity!
Outdoor Education: Our Year 8 students headed out to Long Beach for an exciting day of rock climbing, guided by instructor Tim from Dunedin Adventures.
Athletics Practice: Everyone has been hard at work practising for upcoming athletics events, including discus, shot put, high jump, hurdles, sprints, and relays. A highlight for the hurdles practice was receiving some expert assistance from Bear, Mr Wells' dog!
