2017 Sir Peter Blake Leadership Award

On the last day of Term 2 , Lachie Cameron was the recipient of this prestigious and well deserved award at our Merit Assembly.

Anne-Sophie Page, who had just sailed into Auckland from Fiji on Sir Peter Blake's original yacht, now named Tara, was our keynote speaker.  She spoke of her Intermediate Science Fair project as being the springboard to all her outstanding achievements particularly related to sustainability and preserving our wildlife environment.

Mr Allen Anderson, Manager of South Dunedin Westpac Bank talked about Sir Peter Blake and timely winning of the America's Cup, before presenting the Leadership Medal.

This year Lachie Cameron was our worthy recipient. " Lachie is able to naturally demonstrate the Sir Peter Blake ideals without pretension, showing integrity, resilience, a determination to succeed, great team building and leadership. He is very hard working and does know how to have fun, but most importantly, is an extremely grounded and solid Tahuna citizen, who epitomises all the values we encourage in our students. With values like this, he is sure to go far. Sir Peter Blake would be very proud to see Lachie as a recipient of the medal. "
