Camp Tirohanga - Camp Cooking
Written by Jessica Murphy.
On the first day camp for dinner we made nachos in our cooking groups. Matua explained how to use the gas cookers then we got to cooking! All of the groups got the carrots and onions and stirred them until brown.
We then put in our mince and nacho/taco spice mix. We kept breaking up the mince until brown. We put in the beans and tomato juice. We mixed that until it looked ready. Then the parent helpers gave us some nacho chips and cheese! It was so yummy!
The next morning all the cooking groups lined up at the barbecue and we made pancakes. They were really good. Overall camp was so fun!
