Year 7 News
Making and creating in the science lab.
The Year 7 students have been busy working on the first prototype of their low-cost, tasty snack. The students have been revisiting recipes, cooking times and learning a variety of techniques as they work towards answering the PBL driving question, "How can we use Chemistry to make low-cost, tasty snacks?" It has been great to see the children putting into action some of the food science they learnt through the Wonder Project and chemistry lessons. These snacks will also be written onto recipe cards to be shared with the wider community.
In weeks 8 and 9, the Year 7s will head to the Art Gallery to work with the Educator, focusing on art and design in preparation for Term 4's PBL unit.
In Week 9, we will also hold our annual Year 7 speech contest, with judges from Toastmasters. This year's topic is a persuasive speech.
