Year 8 News

What an awesome start to the year for our Year 8 cohort! So much has already been happening, and the energy is fantastic! Tahuna house sports are well underway, and we're thrilled to see so many students participating in the various summer sports teams. This may be one of the last opportunities for some of these children to represent Tahuna in team sports, so we encourage everyone to make the most of it. Whether it be touch, volleyball, water polo, or futsal, just to name a few, it's great to see such enthusiasm and camaraderie.

This term, all Year 8 students will be participating in a valuable first aid course, equipping them with essential skills and preparing them for our exciting camp in Term 2. We're also looking forward to our visit to the Dunedin Public Art Gallery, which promises to be an enriching experience. Our Relationships and Sexuality program is underway, providing important information and guidance, and our Cyber Safety unit will begin in Week 7, addressing crucial online safety skills.

We were incredibly fortunate to have recently welcomed Jake Bailey, who delivered an inspiring talk on building resilience. His insights on this vital skill, so important for our students as they navigate their schooling and beyond, were truly valuable. His message about the importance of resilience for success is one we know our students will carry with them.

As you can see, so much has happened already, and there's plenty more to come this term! We're looking forward to a busy and productive few months.

If you would like to know more about any or all of these fantastic opportunities, please don't hesitate to contact your child's classroom teacher. They are your first point of contact and can provide specific details about each activity.
