Tahuna End of Term 1 Technology
Students are just finishing off their first Technology rotation for the year.
Visual Art: Enjoy looking at the year 7 & year 8 students creating a variety of art work, learning about different artists and their styles, shading self portraits and expressing feelings through their art. Hopefully you've also got to view students work in their Google Docs.
E-Tech: At e-tech this term there were a variety of projects to build, the boxes and cutlery were very popular. Students all got to use teddy/the laser cutter at least during their lessons. All of the students enjoyed using lightburn as well as building and teaching others how to build things.
Food Technology: Students have been really engaged in their kitchen groups designing and then trialling finger food products. These products were then made in bulk to cater for an end of term team celebration with much excitement! Please ask students to show you their learning journals.
Hard Materials: Students have spent the last few weeks using the skills they have learnt building planter boxes to build free-choice projects, including chopping boards, whistles, cars, models and boxes. The motivation and initiative of both year 7 and 8 students has been good. They have all completed online assessments which are available for parents to look at. Discussing these with your students will help reinforce their work in school.
