Specialist Teaching Areas

Visual Art:
Please take a look at our year 7 and year 8 art works based on Alice and Wonderland. I'm sure you will be pleasantly surprised with the vibrant colours, creative compositions and all round fun pieces of art.
Food Technology:
Year 7 students have been putting their skills into practice by designing and trialling food products to sell at our Matariki school disco.
Year 8 students have been exploring foods from around the world and working in their groups to make their own recipes. Students also enjoyed learning how to make panipopo during Samoan language week.
Hard Materials:
Students in Hard Materials are well through their skills learning stages and beginning to make the different parts of their own 'big ' project(s).
The big project brief given to the students was:
*to select and use wooden pieces from 6 different sizes of 20mm thick White pine
*to add a feature piece of Rimu laminated into their project(s).for beautiful contrast.
*to make a multi part project and to use materials and manage their time well.
We look forward to sharing photos of these finished projects at the end of the term.
