Our Year 8 students have been discussing the properties of plywood, then designing and crafting creations based primarily on plywood. The Year 7 students are getting an introduction to carving pictures using a Vee Chisel and then carving a mould and heat pressing acrylic coasters.

Joshua Tuiavii competed in the NZ Modern School of Music Otago/Southland competition on the 5/9/15. He received a gold medal, silver medal and a trophy for drumming in the 13 years and over category.

Year 7 Food Technology students from team 1C and 2C did a fabulous job baking and decorating over 150 cupcakes on Thursday to raise just over $300 for the SPCA

Every year there is a search for the best NZ primary and intermediate schools rock band, called ROCKSHOP BANDQUEST. Two Tahuna teams did a great job of rocking it out and cementing their place nationally.

A very enjoyable hockey season came to a perfect end when the Tahuna "A" squad took out the Year 7/8 competition final with a convincing 5-0 win over Balmacewen last Friday.

Regionals for Aerobics were held on Saturday 8th and Sunday the 9th of August. It was held at the Kings and Queens Performing Arts Centre. Those competing from Tahuna included Amaya Leslie, Jessica Scott,Ruby Cameron, Amberly Orr, Emily MCLennan, Wairaamia Taratoa-Bannister and Me (Nelia McDowall).
